Notre Dame Football! | Are You Ready for Some Football!
Yes, kids. Notre Dame Football opens for 2011 tomorrow vs. Skip Holtz’s South Florida team. I will be glued to the TV to watch my alma mater.
Why should YOU even care? After all, it’s not YOUR alma mater.
Notre Dame remains significant in college football and academics
Notre Dame remains the most popular football team in the United States - despite the fact it has not won a national championship since 1988 (Skip’s dad Lou was coach then.) The main reason: Notre Dame is the only university with a truly national following. They are the “New York Yankees” of college football.
Notre Dame is also a superb academic school - it has the #1 undergraduate business program in the nation, according to BusinessWeek. (Sorry, Stanford, Harvard and Penn.)
And this grad has a special tie to his alma mater.
The Marketing Department at the University of Notre Dame uses content from Find New Customers to teach marketing to students. I hold a Marketing degree from the University, so helping to educate the next generation of marketing professionals arouses great pride in me. (How many grads have a tie like this to their alma mater?)
Other schools give 4 year degrees. Notre Dame gives 40 year degrees. “Tradition Never Graduates.” Check out “It’s Graduation Season” for my tribute to graduating college students.
At the B2B lead generation company, Find New Customers, we wish everyone a great weekend and hope our Fighting Irish win tomorrow.
Just because the weekend is here, don’t give up on Fearless Competitor. We have awesome posts queued up for Saturday and Sunday. (But we take Monday - Labor Day off.)
